Click the blue box near the middle of the page that says “Pay Online.” This brings you to the payment page.

You can look up your parking ticket by license plate number or by citation number.

Once you’re ready, click the green link at the bottom of the page saying “Begin.”

Enter your citation number or license plate number. Select your license plate state if you entered your license plate number.

You have other options if you’d rather not make your SFMTA parking ticket payment online.

  • Pay by mail: Write the citation number on your check or money order and make it payable to SFMTA. Mail it to:

What should I do if got towed?

If you think your vehicle was towed, call the City and County of San Francisco Impound at 415-856-82-00 to find your vehicle. You must pick up your vehicle in person and pay any fines to get your vehicle returned to you.

What if I can’t afford the fine to get my car out of impound?

There is a discount if this is the first time your car has been towed. If you participate in a low-income program, you can also get your fine reduced. You can contest a tow by calling 1-415-701-54-00 and scheduling a hearing.

How do I get the boot off of my vehicle?

If you have five or more unpaid parking tickets, your vehicle may get a boot, which makes it immobile. You have 72 hours to make a payment and get the boot removed. You can pay online the same way you pay a parking ticket or pay in person at 11 South Van Ness Avenue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can pay at the AutoReturn Customer Service Center at 450 Seventh Street from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

How do I contest a boot?
