NV Energy FAQs

Why is my bill so expensive?

There are several reasons why your bill may have increased. Changes in your living situation, such as having guests or purchasing a new home, can increase your bill. Weather can impact your bill as well. If you have purchased new appliances, they can use additional electricity as well.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Your deposit may be waived if you sign up for automatic monthly payments or have a guarantor. A guarantor is a person with an account in good standing with NV Energy and a good credit history. They may also waive your deposit if you are in the military or if you provide a letter showing you have a good credit history with your previous utility.

What happens if my payment is late?

If your payment is late, you may be charged a late fee. You will need to pay your bill as soon as you can or your service will be disconnected.

What is the Equal Payment plan?

The Equal Payment plan evens out your payments, so they aren’t higher at certain times of the year. They will periodically review your account and make adjustments as needed.

I’m having trouble paying my bill. What should I do?

If you’re having a hard time paying your bill, contact NV Energy nvenergy.com/contact-us. They may be able to make payment arrangements, so you can get caught up on your bill.
