LADWP Pay My Bill – Compare All Payment Options

The LA Department of Water makes it easy for residents to pay their bills, sign up for new service, and discontinue their current service. Most of which can be done online. To make paying water bills easier, LADWP offers comprehensive online services, as well as a host of easy-to-use services that accommodate your needs. If you need to pay your LADWP bill, here’s how you can do so.

LADWP Pay My Bill Online

Most consumers pay their bills online now. LA residents who visit the LADWP homepage can view their bills, view past statements, enroll in paperless billing, track usage, and set up recurring payments.

New Users

If you are new to the LADWP website, you will need to register for an online account. When you visit the homepage, click on ‘New User? Register Now’ on the right-hand side of the screen. Account Registration

When you continue to register, you will need to enter the following information to verify your identity: account number and 4-digit access code. You can locate your account number on your most recent bill. The 4-digit access code is one you may have already created with LADWP when you began service. The code is either the last four numbers of the primary account holder’s social security number, or it is a PIN you created. Register Account Online

Existing Users

If you already set up the account online, there are a few places on the homepage where you can access your account and pay your bill. Pay My Bill

You can click on any one of the three areas to proceed. You will always be routed to the login screen. All you have to do it enter your username and password in the two boxes to proceed.

Paying Your LADWP Bill

Once you are logged in to your account, you can pay your bill one of two ways. You can either enroll in automatic payments so your payment comes out of your checking account every month, or you can make a one-time payment with your checking account, debit card, or credit card.

Pay in Person

LADWP welcomes in-person payments at one of the local LADWP customer service centers across the area. The customer service centers are open from 9 am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The centers are closed on major holidays.

Pay Over the Phone

You can choose to make a payment over the phone using the automated system. You can call 1-800-342-53-97 day or night to schedule a payment. When you use the automated phone system to make a payment, make sure you have your payment information ready and your account number.

In the Mail

Don’t mail your payment to the same service location where you can make an in-person payment. To ensure appropriate and swift processing, mail your LADWP payment to:

Western Union

A final option for residents who need to send money is Western Union. Any Western Union office can wire your LADWP payment. You must include the accountholder’s name on the wire and the account number. You will also be required to pay a small fee for the transaction. Make sure you keep all transmittals that accompany the transaction to verify your payment.
