SECO FAQs

What should my thermostat setting be?

During the summer, you’ll want to keep your thermostat at 78-80 degrees. During the winter, you’ll want to set it at 68-70 degrees. If you’re going to be away, adjust your thermostat accordingly.

Should I get a humidistat?

A humidistat can help keep down the humidity in your home. It can also keep your air conditioning from running too much, so you may find it helpful.

Should I use a dehumidifier?

A dehumidifier will not save you money. In fact, it will make your air conditioning run more frequently, which uses more electricity.

Should I use my fans?

Fans can definitely help cool down your room. You should only use them in rooms you’re using, though. Running fans in rooms you aren’t using will increase your energy costs.

Do I need a new meter?

If you think your meter is wrong, let SECO know. They will test it and change it out if needed.
